Two handfuls of nuts a day will improve the quality of sperm
in young men, according to a recently published study in the British journal
"Biology of Reproduction".
Shape, motility and viability of spermatozoa were at a
higher level in men who have a special feeding regimen during the study add
walnuts, reports BBC.
The study involved 117 men who ranged in age from 21-35
years and who were fed the Western diet regime. They were in the study were
divided into two groups, one of which is a day by eating 75 grams of nuts.
Twelve weeks long study found that the fatty acids found in
walnuts support the growth and development of sperm, however, is not confirmed
whether they have any effect on male fertility.
British statistics testify that every sixth couple has
fertility problems and that was forty percent of the problems in the male
partner.
Doctor Alan landscape, adult education at the University of
Sheffield, said that such studies minimization very easy, but that changes in
feeding regimen, men have large impact on the quality of sperm.
Scientists who worked on the study revealed that the next
step is to investigate the influence of walnut fertility of couples who have
logged on in vitro fertilization clinics.
